Valentine Coffee, Monday, February 13th: While Luren has its regular rehearsal at Decorah High School beginning at 7:30 p.m., the Luren Auxilliary will have a social time followed with Valentine cookies & brownies for the after-rehearsal coffee. There will be a Valentine basket to receive cards and/or monetary gifts for Ardwin & Edna Reicks in support following their recent house fire.
Lenten Services :
Wednesday, February 29th -- Decorah Lutheran Church, please be in the balcony by 5:00 p.m., church attire.
Wednesday, March 14th -- Postville Joint Lenten Service at Community Presbyterian Church, 106 S. Reynolds St., Postville, Iowa; plan to be there by 6:15 p.m., church attire.
Fair Stand Notes: Thanks are due to all who participated to make Luren's food stand a big success, with special thanks to Ken Larson and the Fair Stand Committee who worked tirelessly to assure that we all were organized and scheduled well, that the new grill produced our traditionally-acclaimed pancakes, burgers, and hot ham & cheese sandwiches, and that we had goodly supplies of Luren pies and Larson doughnuts. Thanks everyone! It's the Fair Stand that provides the means for us to partcipate in Sangerfest.
Sangerfest Notes: We thank our friends at the Grieg Chorus for all their hard work, planning, and excellent execution to have made Sangerfest 2010 in Madison wonderfully memorable! We are looking ahead now to Sangerfest 2012 at Pheasant Run in Chicago Suburb, St. Charles, Illinois, June 14-16, 2012, hosted by the Bjornson Male Chorus of Chicago.
